Improvement Institute’s air brakes course starts with one day, 8 hours, of theory covering: components, function and maintenance. The second day, 4 hours, for the on-truck practical. Qualified to assess the pre-trip right at the same school you took the training at. Provided you pass the required parts of the course, you walk away after 12 hours, then complete the written test at the government building computer and have the full air brakes endorsement.
